“The Method of Chinese Wrestling” The following book was written by Tong Zhongyi and first published in Shanghai. It’s an instructional manual on Chinese wrestling (Shuai Jiao) first written in 1935. It’s a book on the ancient art of Chinese wrestling. Tim Cartmell later translated the book into English. Both people are well-accomplished martial artist and the statement alone doesn’t do them justice for their contributions to the martial arts. Contained in the book are very thorough explanations of the basics of Chinese wrestling. There are various training practices demonstrated with clear illustrations as well as 28 throws. Very few books on the market share techniques with applications and training methods necessary to acquire the skills to perform them. Anyone who studies any form of throwing should pick up this book. In my opinion it is worth every penny and very few books on Chinese wrestling can stand next to it.
